Our test says about this bottle of wine (repeatability on a few bottles not tested): Puerta de Plata Merlot DO Catalunya Reserva 2007, price PLN 18.99 PLN per bottle: rating 1* – so-so, scarcely 85 PPFPP.
Once I reviewed it positively: Puerta de Plata. There, however, it was of the 2001. Now its colour is super red, almost black, but my nose feels too much alcohol, just behind some prunes and chocolate, next the mouth neither large, nor small, some striking lack of structure, almost blank, a little pepper and vanilla, but bitterness at some point becomes the barrel, with some, too insistent, wood. Almost without acidity, even slightly sweetish, like … (although according to the label, it should be completely dry). No after-taste. Simply nothing. The absolute lack of character, you drink it, just for drinking, but it does not cause any feelings, neither man, nor woman, too expensive for such a fuss. I do not recommend.
The rating according to ” PPFPP „: 0 * – wine defective, not suitable for drinking, we do not recommend it (50-79 PPFPP), 1 * – so-so (80-85 PPFPP), 2 * – good (86-89 PPFPP), 3 * – very good (90-95 PPFPP), 4 * – excellent (96-99 PPFPP), 5 * – outstanding (100 PPFPP).
